so back to the m&s grill
here’s what’s so great about he m&s grill…

1. it’s on the plaza, mere steps from the penthouse.
2. happy hour, every day except friday. yes, there are interesting drinks. yes, a nice glass of wine is under 6 bucks. but here’s where the m&s grill does it up right: a 4-part happy hour menu — food selections for 2, 3, 4 or 5 bucks. and these aren’t “half-price apps!” they’re thoughtful, sometimes simple dishes that are well done. for 2 bucks, for instance, a cheese quesadilla* with a chili/garlic aoli*. it’s simple and tremendous. for 5 bucks, pot roast sliders, mashed potatoes and gravy. pot roast sliders? now that’s creative. and they’re great. i HATE pot roast. (i’m being serious as evidenced through my oh-so-rare use of caps). yet i find myself drawn to every dish they make using pot roast. the pot roast nachos are…are…wow.
there’s good stuff in all price categories, about 16 total dishes. (you can have the carpaccio*…i’m not goin’ near that stuff. ick.)
3. big-ass chocolate truffle cookies for a buck. (neil…can i say “big-ass?”)
indeed, happy hour at the m&s grill is so good, i’m having a hard time going to other happy hours…and there are plenty here on the plaza.
penthouse clear.
