this is called a “subject line”

it’s there for a reason (ellen). it tells me what you’re sending in the email. it helps me know (parks) if your email is deserving of special attention. (this is where both ellen and parks say something like “if you see my name attached to the email…”)
seriously, is it just me or does it drive anyone else bonkers when the subject line is populated with a mere “RE:” or perhaps the ever-so ambiguous “untitled subject”?
i’d much rather see “hey, contact me now about your lottery winnings” or “pleasure is just a click away”.
actually, regardless which of the foregoing subjects resides in the subject line, the result is the same: click, goodbye.
