Happy Hour part 1

November 13th, 2008

okay, gonna run dual tracks on food.  i’ve started reviewing local joints for breakfast (see previous post about the kitchen sink).  now, it’s happy hour.  going to work way before sunrise has it’s advantages…about the time i’m ready to think about going to bed, happy hour is ending.  so that means, if i find the right place, i can get great food at a great price.

the first experience with this was the hereford house…long before it burned.  matter of fact, it was so long ago, that i have little to say about it.

so we’ll start our happy hour series with what is now my clear happy hour favorite and the happy hour against which all others will be judged:

m&s grill logo

the m&s grill on the east end of the plaza.  it’s between p.f. changs and figlio’s (don’t get me started on figlio’s).  it is one of only half a dozen m&s grills in the country and the m&s comes from mccormick and schmick’s – it’s their steakhouse brand.

let’s be clear on what makes a good happy hour for me.  sure, there needs to be a good price on a glass of wine, beer or some other appropriate adult beverage(s), but the food is key.  i’m looking to eat well, not just have a drink.

with that in mind…check back for the details.  (happy hour is over…it’s time for bed.)

rock’n'roll.
